Baseball Phantoms Drive In Holiday Cheer for Delco Families

Yeadon, PA—The Delaware County Community College baseball team, in partnership with the Keith Dawson Foundation and Pennsylvania House Speaker Joanna McClinton, successfully organized a turkey drive at Bell Avenue Elementary in Yeadon. This initiative provided 2,500 Thanksgiving turkeys to families in need. The collaboration brought holiday cheer and meaningful impact to many local households, while fostering community support and engagement.

Student-athletes involved in this year's turkey drive were Ray Fonio, Hector Fierro, Nicholas Radomile, Teagan Jillard, CJ Deturris, Jaden Jeter, Ryan Bascoe, Bryce Johnson, and Christoper Malgieri, joined by Head Coach Andre Solomon and Assistant Coach John Jillard. The Phantoms had partnered with the foundation last year as well to distribute turkeys and hundreds of pounds of additional food.

"I'm incredibly proud of our team's effort in making the turkey drive a success," said Solomon. "Seeing the impact we made, together with the Keith Dawson Foundation and Representative McClinton, at Bell Avenue Elementary is truly heartwarming. It's a reminder that our role extends beyond the field, and giving back to the community is a responsibility we embrace."

The Keith Dawson Foundation provides support to families impacted by leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood cancers while promoting healthy lifestyles to the local community.

DCCC is scheduled to open the 2026 season on Friday, March 6, 3:30pm, taking on Atlantic Cape Community College at home (901 S Media Ln Rd, Media, PA). Go, Phantoms!
